Our partner Phillip Clayton (Senior) has over 40 years experience in the trailer manufacturing industry. He gained a large amount of knowledge from working at Henred Fruehauf for 20 years (1974 – 1994) and thereafter moving on to own and run his business Philco Trailers from 1994 -2000. Following this Phillip was offered a large contract to manufacture trailers / tipper bodies for Transpec(Pty) Ltd which he accomplished with his sons Ashleigh and Vaughn from 2000 –2014.

Vaughn Clayton gained a large amount of experience in the Earth Moving / Plant Industry when he worked for Aqua Plant & Hire for 6 years and thereafter he moved onto working for Barloworld Equipment for a further 4 years during which he achieved many recognised qualifications & skills.

Together as a family we have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to open our company Clayton Design & Engineering in March 2014. Our company consists of 2 divisions which are Trailer Manufacturing division and our Earth Moving Equipment & components division.
